Dr. Angie Stamm

Dr. Angie Stamm

Veterinarian & Owner

Dr. Stamm obtained her veterinary degree from UC Davis Veterinary School is 2001 and became a certified veterinary acupuncturist from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in 2002.  She practiced in the Placerville area for five years as an equine and small ruminant veterinarian and since 2005 has practiced exclusively with small animals in both Sacramento and El Dorado Counties. In 2012, Dr. Stamm established Meridian Veterinary Care in an effort to bring a variety of integrative wellness options to pet owners.

Dr. Stamm’s passion is educating pet owners about optimal wellness through the use of nutrition, supplements, herbs and acupuncture. She is experienced in combining both Western and Eastern medical treatments. Though she prefers to rely heavily on nutrition, acupuncture and herbal medications for both well and ill patients, traditional drug therapies are also used when appropriate.

When not treating patients, Dr. Stamm enjoys spending time with her three children. She is also a competitive hunter/jumper equestrian and loves to cook and garden.

Associate Veterinarian

Born and raised in the subtropical island of Taiwan, I became a Californian during my teenage years. I studied Animal Science with specialization in animal behavior at University of California, Davis, where I was exposed to a variety of animal related jobs. Through my experience I learned that I really enjoy helping to preserve the unique bond between people and their animals. After working for a short period of time as a veterinary assistant, I went back to my alma mater for veterinary school and received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. If you have visited UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, you may have met me acting as a tour guide in my occasional spare time. Since I utilize both conventional and Traditional Chinese Medicine for my own health, I understand the benefit of the integrative approach. I am certified in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Tui-Na (Chinese medical massage) through the Chi Institute in Florida. I strive to provide high quality medicine and would love the opportunity to care for you and your furry family member.

I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Please let me know if you prefer to use this language to communicate.

I have worked in Veterinary Medicine most of my life starting in High School. I originally wanted to be a vet but changed courses and went to Chiropractic School instead ,obtaining my Chiropractic degree in 1993. I have worked as an associate Chiropractor, owner and relief doctor. I got my certification in the VOM form of animal Chiropractic around 1999. Thru some life changes I got back into Veterinary Medicine and started working for Dr. Stamm in 2017. Meridian Veterinary Care’s view of animal health care blends beautifully with my holistic beliefs for human medicine. I look forward to growing with Dr. Stamm and her practice.

When I’m not working I love bodybuilding and spending time with my Rottweilers. I competed in bodybuilding in the 80’s and love lifting weights. I have raised, trained and bred Rottweilers for decades. My first rottweiler Isis was the first rottweiler to compete in agility. I have titled my dogs in agility, obedience, rally and carting. I have also trained in the sport of Schutzhund/IPO. I enjoy helping people train their own dogs and seeing the bond that develops as a result of that training.

RVT

I became part of the Meridian Veterinary Care family in June of 2020. You will mostly find me in reception to greet you and check your fur babies in. I am also a Registered Veterinary Technician and have worked in the Vet field for 20 years. I graduated from UC San Diego with a BS in Biology in 1996 and was planning to enter the human medical field when I decided to follow my true passion, which was helping animals. Since then, I have done it all, from kennels, reception, customer care, nursing, dentistry, surgery, emergency care to office management.

I was also a student at UC Davis Veterinary School from 2011-2014 but in 2014 life took me in another direction and left UC Davis so I could be a mother to my son again. I returned to working as an RVT in 2015 while starting my own side business which I currently still manage while working at Meridian. I love my job and believe in Integrative Holistic Veterinary Medicine because I have come to know that health & wellness for our beloved animals can be achieved in more ways than one. In my “spare” time, I offer animal healing services that combine my experience as a Reiki Master, certified level I sound healer, aromatherapy, energy intuitive/empath & telepathic communicator. I love to paint, create & explore anything artistic & new. My dream life would be to play in the ocean with the dolphins and turtles, lay on warm beaches in Hawaii, and wake up in the morning in my home surrounded by nature and coconut trees.

My fur family currently includes 3 cats and 2 dogs (all rescues) & all neighborhood wildlife creatures that come to visit us. I look forward to meeting you and all your fur babies and it is my goal to make their visit as fun and pleasant as possible!
