Vitamin C Therapy
Intravenous (IV) Vitamin C Therapy involves the administration of high doses of Vitamin C directly into the bloodstream via an IV catheter. This delivery system is extremely powerful as it allows the Vitamin C to reach levels high enough to kill cancer cells. When it is given intravenously, Vitamin C has been shown to reduce inflammation and induce the production of hydrogen peroxide which directly kills cancer cells in the early stages of cancer.
IV Vitamin C can be used in conjunction with conventional cancer therapies or as the primary treatment when a pet cannot tolerate conventional cancer therapies.
If Vitamin C is being used in addition to conventional cancer therapies, it has been shown to prevent and decrease the adverse effects related to these treatments. Vitamin C can safely be used before or after chemotherapy and radiotherapy and can be given before or after surgery to decrease metastasis and boost immune function.
Vitamin C as the primary course of treatment may be recommended when a pet has experienced adverse side effects to conventional therapies, is experiencing extreme weakness, or conventional treatment has proven ineffective for a pet. In such cases, vitamin C may be combined with sanawave, ozone, acupuncture and other alternative therapies like nutritional therapies and herbal medication to help treat cancer.
